Brightlingsea Car Show

On the 2nd September, I attended the Brightlingsea Car Show on the field by Brightlingsea Scout Hut.

It is the second time I have attended.  Last year, I exhibited George in the show and he was well received.  (see below!)

George at the 2011 Brightlingsea Car Show
This year, unfortunately, I was unable to take George (Something about a dodgy carb, no MOT and a SORN related promise not to drive him on the roads!) so I scrounged a lift in my other half's beautiful red Triumph GT6 (1968, affectionately known as 'Car')

There were even more cars there than last year, including a lovely pair of Holden pick ups in green and yellow, George's sister car (a 1985 Jetta with a very similar numberplate and an impressive 300,000 miles on the clock!) and a wonderful Triumph Dolomite Sprint, which is still used for racing today!

There was a fantastic display of birds of prey and live music all day, which really added to the lively atmosphere - and to cap it all off, Scooby Snax (The local award winning chippy) provided fish and chips all day.  Yum!  I had a great time.  I will definitely be back next year ... hopefully with George this time!
